IT was great to see both Raheem Sterling and Wilfried Bony among the goals in Manchester City’s big win against Bournemouth.

Raheem has done okay since his big-money move from Liverpool in the summer, but it has been tougher for Wilfried because he’s had one or two niggling injuries and it has been difficult for him to get in the side ahead of Sergio Aguero.

I’m really pleased for him. He looked a real threat in the second half on Saturday and to get his two goals will do him a world of good.

Both he and Raheem will be brimming with confidence - and they will need to be, ahead of crucial games against Sevilla and United this week.

It’s looking like Aguero and David Silva will both be injured for those games again so Raheem and Wilfried will need to make the most of their chances.

The back-to-back Champions League group games against Sevilla are most crucial. With respect to Borussia Monchengladbach, I think it’s going to be between City, Juventus and Sevilla to battle for the two last-16 places.

City had a little blip with the defeats at Spurs and against West Ham, but they seem to be firing on all cylinders again now and they really ought to have enough to get the better of the Spanish team over these next two European games.

I had a great time last week at the Dobcross Band Club when I was joined by Joe Royle for a fund-raising do in aid of the locally-based ‘Little Acorns’ nursery. Around 150 people packed into the club and with my old mate Pete Young as MC, everyone had a great night.

We split the event into two halves, with Joe and I recalling our playing days, followed by a question and answer session.

I didn’t leave until around midnight and I had been there early, so it was a really enjoyable night!

Joe and I posed for a picture and while he took out a copy of his autobiography, I realised I had nothing to hold. I quickly whipped an old autograph book up off one of the tables and posed with that!

It was one of the auction items and I think it went on to raise about £90!
