City must be more ruthless – Johnson

ADAM Johnson claimed Manchester City should have won far more comfortably despite reaching the fourth round of the FA Cup with a 4–2 replay win over Leicester.

City found themselves pegged back almost immediately after Carlos Tevez opened the scoring after 16 minutes.

Paul Gallagher levelled from the penalty spot, and City were under pressure again late on as Lloyd Dyer made it 3–2 following goals from Patrick Vieira and Johnson.

Aleksandar Kolarov finally settled City nerves at the end, but Johnson believes both Leicester goals were fortunate.

"They pushed us, and in one–off games anything can happen, but we made it hard for ourselves," he said.

"When we go two goals up here we shouldn't be put under pressure, but a little break for them gets them back in the game, but Kolarov scored a great goal at the end."

Manager Roberto Mancini was satisfied with the win, but admitted his team need to defend better, having conceded three goals at home to Wolves on Saturday.
