Why send a player off for celebrating?

WELL it was certainly an incident-packed Premier League game as Manchester City won so dramatically at Bournemouth.
It was a massive result in the end for City, though they did deserve to return with the three points.
To give Bournemouth credit, they played well and caused City plenty of problems. They went ahead with an unstoppable strike.
DRAMATIC
However, it was the dramatic late winning goal that led to all the headlines.
I didn't agree with Raheem Sterling being sent off after his goal, it was pointless - why don't referee's just use common sense sometimes? There was only 10 seconds left.
Some of the City fans shouldn't have encroached onto the side of the pitch I know, but surely no-one was in any danger. A late winner like that, in such a crucial game, is always going to lead to passionate celebrations.
That's it for two now weeks now, though, as international football takes over, with England heading over to Malta on Friday night.
You can't ever see England losing to a team like Malta, but it's a World Cup qualifier so every country deserves a chance I suppose.
It ought to be a comfortable night's work for England, but when I hear people saying that the players might not necessarily be motivated for a game like this, I don't really agree.
All players should be fully motivated every time they pull on an England shirt.
It doesn't matter whether the team is playing Malta, the Faroe Islands, or Spain, Brazil or Italy, international players should always have pride in wearing the England shirt.
There should always be the enthusiasm, the right attitude an the commitment there if you're playing for England, and to be fair I've never witnessed anything other than that.
