SHARP-eyed siblings Paul and Michael Turner will be aiming to hit the target when they head off to Australia next March for the World Shooting Championships.

The Shaw-based brothers - Paul is 33 and Michael 26 - have both enjoyed plenty of success in the world of clay pigeon shooting in recent years, and their joint call-ups to represent the five-strong England team at the World Championships are just rewards for all their hard work and dedication.

The Championships take place in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, and understandably Paul and his brother can't wait.

Paul said: "It will be such a great honour for us both to go over to Australia and represent our country at the World Championships.

"We'll be part of a five-man team and we aren't just going over there to make up the numbers.

"We're expecting to finish first in the team event."

Before heading off Down Under, Paul and Michael - who have also enjoyed plenty of individual successes - will represent England at next month's prestigious Home International tournament in Scotland.

Paul has also been selected for the forthcoming European Championships.

Michael is now a two-time England Open champion.

The Clay Pigeon Shooting Association offer some financial assistance towards Paul and Michael's expenses for the Australia trip, but it is largely self-funded.
