City have unearthed a hero in Jesus

IT looks like Manchester City may have unearthed a real top prospect in striker Gabriel Jesus.

He's certainly doing very well already, he's got all the skills and everyone can see he's got a real eye for goal.

I've been particularly struck with the absolute enthusiasm he's been showing.

You can see he's loving playing in the Premier League, and he seems to have a great attitude towards the game.

He's brilliant at getting into terrific positions, but he's also working so hard for the team and that's a precious quality to have.

Jesus has come from a humble background, hasn't he?

He's not had an easy life growing up in Brazil, but he's got this wonderful opportunity to go and create something special for himself and City now.

He certainly made another huge impact on Sunday in earning the victory against Swansea.

Once the visitors equalised with only 10 minutes at the Etihad, I though 'oh no, here we go'.

City had battered Swansea in the first half and should have been five or six goals up by half-time.

But after the Swansea goal, City upped the tempo again and they did deserve to win in the end.

They got that bit of luck, but sometimes that's what you need when you're up there challenging.

OLD CLUB

So there's quite a spell between the next game at Bournemouth on Monday, then after that it's the FA Cup last-16 game at my old club Huddersfield. That won't be easy.

I'm off to Rome to watch the Roma versus Torino Serie 'A' game, when Edin Dzeko and Joe Hart will be playing against one another.

The weekend trip was a birthday present, and I can't wait to go because Rome is one place I've never been to before.

I'm hoping to have a catch-up with Edin after the game, but with Joe being with the away team, I'm not sure I'll get to see him because Torino will be keen to get away and home.
