It was great to see Yaya back to his brilliant best

IT was great to see Yaya Toure back in a Manchester City shirt again on Saturday, and playing so well against Crystal Palace.

Everyone could see that he had definitely been keeping himself fit during his recent absence.

He looked trim and hungry, and despite his age there doesn't seem to be any hint of him slowing down.

I'm just surprised that he didn't apologise earlier, then City fans could have seen him back in that kind of form a number of weeks ago.

EXCEPTIONAL

Yaya has been exceptional for City over these past few years.

He's a big game player and he has scored some vital goals for the club - just like the couple he went and scored at Selhurst Park.

I'm hoping he can work himself right back into Pep Guardiola's plans because he's a great guy and and a great player.

Unfortunately he missed the squad cut for the Champions league of course, so he won't be around for tomorrow's trip to Borussia Monchengladbach.

Thankfully, following City's brilliant win against Barcelona the other week, tomorrow's is no longer so much of a must-win game.

I think everyone at the club would be happy to bring a point back from Germany. A draw there would definitely be no tragedy.

Saturday will be interesting with a Premier League trip to Burnley on the horizon.

I really rate Sean Dyche as a manager and I'm not surprised to see them well up in mid-table this season.

I remember when they were in the top flight a few seasons ago, they were possibly the best team I saw at the Etihad Stadium.

It's going to be another really tough game at Turf Moor.

Unfortunately I'm going to a funeral on Thursday, that of my great mate Bobby Campbell, who passed away last week. He was only 60.

Bobby and I became great friends when we played together at Bradford in the late '70s and early '80s. I was the best man at his wedding.

He is still Bradford's record goalscorer and was a brilliant character.

He'll be very sadly missed.
