Reds gunning for much-needed win
Date published: 18 November 2016
THE Premier League returns with a bang tomorrow lunchtime as Manchester United host old foes Arsenal in the early kick-off at Old Trafford.
Arsene Wenger's Gunners are firmly entrenched in the top four and are challenging hard alongside leaders Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City.
Jose Mourinho's Reds are currently eight points adrift of the pacesetters, and they will be hindered by injuries.
Luke Shaw, Marouane Fellaini, Antonio Valencia and Wayne Rooney are all doubts following the international break, while striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic serves a one-match ban.
BREAK
Arsenal will assess Alexis Sanchez, who started for Chile on Tuesday despite suffering a hamstring problem earlier in the international break.
Arsenal are winless in their last nine Premier League games at Old Trafford, losing seven of those matches. However, they did win at United in the FA Cup in 2015.
Meanwhile, United have reported a first-quarter fall in turnover of 2.8-per-cent to the New York Stock Exchange following their failure to qualify for this season's Champions League.
The club's revenue for the three months ending September 30, 2016 is down from £123.6m to £120.2m, while debt has risen 18-per-cent to £337.7m.
The drop in income reflects United's lack of involvement in the Champions League, and the fact they have played three fewer home games compared to the same period last year.
But they remain on course to top last year's record revenues figure of £515.3million.
