READY to depart . . . the tram at the Vienna depot of Bombardier
METROLINK'S 120th tram has made its way from Vienna to Manchester to complete the fleet.
The new vehicle departed the depot of global manufacturer Bombardier this week.
The tram will be kitted out with its Greater Manchester-style livery before making its first run out on the system.
Councillor Andrew Fender, chair of the TfGM committee, said: "Coupled with the recent return of services to a bigger and better St Peter's Square and with the opening of the Second City Crossing just around the corner, we are ensuring Metrolink will continue to provide the people of Greater Manchester with fast, frequent and reliable services for many, many years to come."
Christian Diewald, chief country representative of Bombardier Transportation, Austria, said: "The on-time delivery of the 120th tram truly proves the excellent and close co-operation between Bombardier and Transport for Greater Manchester since our successful partnership began.
"We are pleased that tram 120 will soon be available for the passengers of Greater Manchester. These trams feature a high degree of passenger comfort and score points with their strong performance in terms of energy efficiency and reliability."
