HAVE these Royton lads grown the tallest sunflower in all of Oldham?
Despite the mixed summer, brothers Joseph (6), William (5) and Christopher Moore (2), have been able to grow more than 20 sunflowers, the tallest of which has grown to approximately 9ft.
They were given sunflower seeds in Easter and planted them at the end of June, shortly before the school holidays.
Giant
Last year, the Chronicle published several photos from readers who had grown giant sunflowers, the tallest of which was from five-year-old Oliver Shaw from Chadderton. Oliver was given a sunflower seed to plant by his teacher at St Herbert's RC School, Chadderton, and watched it bloom to a huge 8ft 6in.
Readers pictures are always welcome on any subject that captures life in Oldham. They could be funny, stunning, dramatic or cute - anything that catches your eye and which you think others might find interesting.
