TWINS John and Tony Alberti are hoping to whip up an Italian storm Stateside after being invited to cook live on a US television programme.

The Greenfield gourmets - who shot to fame after appearing on ITV2's "Love Island" - say they developed a love of good food and cooking after watching their Italian "nonna" and parents at the stove.

They furthered their frenzy for food by setting up Alimentari Di Alberti Italian deli and fruit and veg shop, in Uppermill, along with their sister Caroline back in 2014 and are now presenters of "Twin Cooks" on their YouTube cooking channel as well as blogging and writing about food.

Now the dishy duo have been approached by the "Today Show" on NBC to show off some of their twintastico Italian recipes on September 20.

"Learning traditional Italian family recipes passed down through generations is where their passion for food was born," said a spokeswoman for the twins.

"Food is in their blood and being Italian it is all about family and food, and for them the kitchen and dining table are the heart of the family home. The twins, whose family come from Tuscany, are very proud of their Italian roots and tradition and want to show that the key to Italian food is passion, love and simplicity.

"Along with their Italian good looks, charm and personalities, they want to show you that you can look good and cook good, and food and fashion go hand in hand. They want to show that cooking can be sexy, fun and irresistibly Italian."

The twins, who now live in Cheshire, have amassed an army of fans on their YouTube show who tune in every week to see them preparing their Italian family recipes and unique twists on English classics.

They now have plans for cook books and hope one day to open their own Italian cafe and restaurant.
