SALUKI, who had recently given birth to puppies, was found whimpering at the fire exit of the RSPCA
A DOG, which had recently given birth to puppies, was thrown over a 7ft fence and into the grounds of an RSPCA centre in Rochdale.
The Saluki bitch, estimated to be between three and four years old, was found on Tuesday morning by a member of staff at the RSPCA Roch Valley Animal Centre in Redcross Street.
She was whimpering at a fire exit having been thrown over the fence which surrounds the charity's property.
Despite being very frightened, the dog, which has now been named Sally, was in relatively good condition. But RSPCA staff are now concerned for her puppies, as she was found to be producing milk when she was checked over, meaning she is likely to have recently given birth.
A spokesman said: "We would like to hear from anybody who may recognise this dog or know where she has come from or where her puppies may be. We would also like to hear from anybody who may have seen anything suspicious in the Redcross Street area on Tuesday.
"Anyone with information should call our cruelty line on 0300 1234 999."
Sally has now been moved to another local RSPCA centre where she is being cared for by staff and volunteers.
