SEND-OFF . . . the mayor and mayoress, Councillor Derek and Di Heffernan, with the children
THE mayor waved off a group of scouts and cubs as they embarked on an adventure holiday to France.
Councillor Derek Heffernan and mayoress Di Heffernan joined the children before they left for the Acorn Adventure Centre in Ardeche, France. The week-long trip sees 34 cubs, scouts and leaders from across the borough take part in numerous activities and includes a two-day descent down the Ardeche River where they will camp overnight. The scouts have been going on trips abroad with the cubs every two years since 1994.
