SISTERS usually love doing everything together, and this was certainly the case for Lilly and Holly Mortin, who chopped off their locks for charity.
The kind-hearted girls donated a combined 20.5in of hair to the Little Princess Trust, which provides wigs and hair pieces for children who suffer hair loss due to cancer treatment, as well as raising £648.32 for the charity.
Proud mum Laura, who works for British Gas, was inspired by her friend's daughter who donated her hair to the charity and thanked all the people who have donated.
Laura (32) said: "It was my idea - I spoke to the girls about it.
"They didn't want their hair cut at all until they heard the story. Once they heard about my friend's little girl they said it would be a nice thing for them to do as well."
Lilly (7) and Holly (6), who attend Littlemoor Primary School, went in for their haircut at Headshop in Union Street.
Lilly had 12.5in cut off while Holly had eight inches chopped off. After the big event they were treated to a special party at their home.
Laura added: "I could see Holly looked like she was going to get upset at first. Then they turned around and looked at each other and burst out laughing.
"I was worried whether I had made the right decision but when they saw each other it relieved any tension.
"They really liked their hair as well.
"Bath time is a lot easier - they don't have to wait for their hair to dry.
"Me and my husband Danny are really proud of what they have done."
