OLYMPIC pups . . . hoping new homes are a hop, skip and jump away
THESE Olympic pup hopefuls are looking to be on the home straight very soon - but there's still time for extra training.
Named after our Great British sporting heroes Mo Farah, Tom Daley, Bradley Wiggins, Andy Murray, Jessica Ennis-Hill and Zara Phillips, the eight-week-old bundles of fun are hoping to be a hop, skip and jump away from finding their forever homes this summer.
Fit
All ready to race off to their new lives from Dogs' Trust Manchester, based in Denton, staff are looking to re-homing the terrier-cross pooches before the Rio Olympics begin on August 5.
Dawn Bishop, rehoming centre manager at the Denton centre, said: "They were born here and it has been lovely watching them get fighting fit.
"We've also had chance to get to know them really well, which helped us choose their names.
"Tom dives straight into anything including his food bowl, Mo definitely has the most stamina, Murray loves to play with any kind of ball, Jess and Zara seem to like jumping around more than the others and as for Bradley, well we've called him Bradley "Waggins" as his tail never stops wagging!
"They all need active homes with owners who appreciate the demands of young puppies and are at home most of the day to help them settle in to their new routine.
Jump
"It would also be lovely if they could go to homes with secure gardens so they can happily run and jump around with their two-legged friends.
"They are gorgeous little dogs who will make the perfect pets in the right homes where they can fulfil their potential just like their sporting namesakes."
