FORMER Oldham Athletic player Chris Taylor and current St Helens rugby league star Joe Greenwood presented the prizes at New Bridge School's annual sports awards.
The local heroes were joined by Luke Flanagan, the first student from the Hollinwood special school to go on to study at Oldham Sixth From College.
More than 60 pupils were honoured for their contribution to school sport over the last 12 months. They included the Oldham Wheelies who won the Wheelchair Football North West Powerchair league.
Chris, a life-long Latics fan, played for the club from 2005 to 2012 and recently signed for Bolton, while former Saddleworth School pupil Joe joined St Helens from Saddleworth Rangers.
Luke is studying sport at Oldham Sixth Form College and is a former Oldham Sports Awards winner.
Alison Tootill, head of PE at New Bridge, said: "This is one of our proudest times of the year as it is a celebration of achievement in the sporting and leadership aspects of school, and a reflection of what our students can achieve with determination and motivation."
