School pupils sent home after power cut

OLDHAM pupils were sent home after a school lost power when a nearby substation was broken into.
New Bridge School, Oldham, suffered a power outage after the break-in which occurred at around 7am on Friday until around 11.30am and as a result had to send the children home.
Electricity Northwest arrived at the substation and had to remove power to 1,300 customers in the area for one minute at 11am to restore supplies.
A spokesperson for Electricity Northwest, said: "A break-in at one of our substations in Oldham caused the loss of supply to one customer at around 7am. To restore supplies engineers also had to remove power to 1,300 customers in the area for one minute at 11am.
"We will fully repair any damage to the substation and carry out a full investigation."
