MOTOR enthusiasts are welcome to bring their vehicles along to a car show organised by the Trans Pennine Transport Heritage Society.

Petrol heads are encouraged to join other car fanatics at Bring Your Motor Night on June 21 in the car park of the Carriage House Pub in Marsden.

The free event - from around 4.30pm to 9.30pm - is open to all forms of transport with previous years seeing motor bikes, lorries, tractors and last year a shire horse.

Tony Whalley, of the Trans Pennine Transport Heritage Society, said: "Bring a vehicle, the event is open to everyone.

"The club decided we would have a night where we could take our vehicles and we started it.

"It has started to become a bit of a bikers gathering as well, we get vintage bikes and classic bikes as well."

Tony urged people not to shy away from the show, emphasizing it is the history and not how prolific the vehicle is that counts.

Two awards - Best in Show and Quirkiest Motor - will be decided by revellers who can also take part in a small raffle for the Mountain Rescue Team and RNLI for 50p a ticket.

Tony added: "It's about the history of the vehicles, anyone can come and see which car they would fancy driving home. We have a raffle and that goes into a charity each year. The event is free, no money changes hands apart from the money over the bar, which usually stays closed on Tuesdays but opens especially for us."
