MILESTONE for Margaret as she reaches 100
FAILSWORTH lady Margaret Kirby is toasting a milestone today.
All the bunting and cake will be out to see in Margaret's 100th birthday at Acorn Lodge, where she has resided since 2008.
Margaret was born in Failsworth to Agnes Brierley and Calvin Roach.
She worked in a factory and married Eddie Kirby, with whom she had a daughter, Vivian, who died of cancer in 2012.
Margaret enjoyed good health until she got dementia a few years ago.
Joanne Whalen, unit manager at the nursing home, said: "She loved going on holidays with her daughter. Her husband Eddie was her only love."
