EVER wanted to tread the boards at Oldham Coliseum Theatre?

If you're a lady and over 45 you could be in luck.

For the theatre is looking for extras for the upcoming production of The Ladykillers.

Based on the 1955 Ealing comedy film and adapted for the stage by television sitcom writer Graham Linehan (Father Ted, Black Books, The IT Crowd), The Ladykillers is a dark comedy about eccentric widow, Mrs Wilberforce, and a gang of ruthless criminals posing as a string quartet.

The theatre is looking for ladies to join the cast on stage during the last scene of Act 1 and the first scene of Act 2 to play Mrs Wilberforce's friends. The play describes 'a gaggle of old ladies', however the theatre is delighted to offer this opportunity to ladies aged 45+ with the ability to act older. Those interested will need to attend a couple of rehearsals and be available for some or all of the performances.

It's a fantastic opportunity for anyone who has ever fancied appearing on stage to become a part of the town's theatrical history. Recent Coliseum productions involving members of the local community include: Kiss Me Quickstep's dance chorus, the annual pantomime chorus and the community chorus of Oldham women in 2015's smash-hit musical, Dreamers.

The Coliseum's production of The Ladykillers is directed by Artistic Director and CEO, Kevin Shaw, and features familiar faces amongst the cast including: Henry Devas (Bedroom Farce), Matthew Ganley (Our Gracie), Howard Gray (Hot Stuff), Chris Hannon (Travels With My Aunt), Roberta Kerr (Deathtrap), Simeon Truby (The Pitmen Painters, Mother Goose) and Christopher Wright (The Life and Times of Mitchell and Kenyon).

Anyone interested in taking part should contact Rose Sergent by 5pm on Thursday on 0161 785 7007 or by email at rosesergent@coliseum.org.uk.

The play runs from June 10 to July 2. Tickets can be booked on 0161 624 2829 or at www.coliseum.org.uk
