Oreo - recovering after its terrifying ordeal at the hands of teenage thugs
A FAMILY whose cat had its eye gouged out by teenage yobs is offering a reward to help catch the attackers.
Pet Oreo was left with one eye hanging out following the attack near his home off Keb Lane in Bardsley.
The eye was later removed by a vet.
Now owner Natasha Truelove (26) and her family are offering £100 to anyone who can lead RSPCA investigators to the four teenagers heard laughing as they carried out the horrific torture on 18-month-old Oreo last Thursday.
Horrified mum of one Natasha returned from work to find a neighbour had taken Oreo in after hearing his howls and the laughter. He was found cowering in a field, near the Daisy Field Inn, at around 2pm.
Devastated Natasha has launched a campaign on Facebook to find the thugs and urged anyone with information to contact the RSPCA.
“He was hiding his face at first, he must have been in such pain.,” she said. “Something was clearly stuck through his eye and pulled out. I couldn’t believe what my neighbour told me
“I took him straight to the vet..
“He seems well enough, but he’s still very jumpy and clearly terrified. He won’t go near the windows and is still hiding away. We just hope the RSPCA can find who did it to him. I am absolutely overwhelmed by the kindness of people who have offered their support.”
Family friend and neighbour Julie Mellor who took Natasha to the RSPCA Animal Hospital in Salford to collect Oreo following his operation said: “You just can’t believe someone would do this. It’s terrible.
