NEW life is to be breathed into the Oldham clubbing scene with a new nightclub opening tonight - and another on its way under the same roof.

Big-name DJs, a cocktail bar and two nightclubs will all soon be under one roof in the town centre.

Club Faith will open its doors for the first time tonight and in a couple of months time the same owners will open a second nightclub, Voodoo, on the floor above it.

Both clubs are in the former Livingstones nightclub - a former factory at the top of Fairbottom Street, next to Oldham Coliseum.

Chris Roberts of owners DBL - his family company - said: “With the amount of money being invested in Oldham town centre at the moment, it’s an exciting place to be. Oldham is up-and-coming again. Mark my words, we are here for the long run.

The venue opens tonight with a Ministry of Sound night featuring DJs Sick Electrik, Shaun Thomas and Ben Arthurs.

“Nightlife in Oldham was once famous but there’s no longer the clubs, there’s no variety. We will now be hosting some of the biggest brands in the clubbing world.

“I don’t believe Ministry of Sound have been to Oldham before so we are really hitting the ground running.”

Voodoo will open upstairs in less than two months. It will act as a different nightclub altogether and will be for people aged 21 and over.
