Have your say on Foxdenton’s future

A CAMPAIGN to save Foxdenton Hall in Chadderton is inviting local residents to an information event on Saturday to find out more about the refurbishment project.

The event, from 10am at Kingfisher Community Special School, Foxdenton Lane, will give residents the chance to find out more about the plans to bring the Grade II listed building back into public use and how they can get involved.

The 700-year-old building has fallen into disrepair and has been closed to the public for several years.

Local historians and community groups keen to save the beautiful manor house have enlisted the help of the public through Chadderton Together in order to save Oldham’s heritage.

The Rev John Simmons, chairman of Chadderton Together, said: “We want to see as many people as possible coming along to our public event. This borough has the most Grade II listed buildings in Greater Manchester, outside Manchester itself, and Foxdenton Hall is the only Grade II listed building in Chadderton. It would be a real pity if it fell further into disrepair.”
