Raising money for paralysed player

WELL-wishers have organised several fund raising events in aid of a young footballer left paralysed after a freak accident.

Sportsman 17-year-old Ellis Robinson was paralysed an accident in Hathershaw Sports Centre, where he was training with his team Limeside King George FC.

Ellis, from Hollins, is currently being treated in the intensive care unit at Salford Royal Hospital. When his situation improves, will be moved to the spinal injuries centre in Southport.

On Saturday from noon, Limeside Lions Rugby Club has organised a family fun day at Hollinwood Cricket Club.

Whitebank cafe in Limeside is having a raffle for a 40in smart television in aid of Ellis. The TV has been donated by Paul Martin, an Oldham domestic appliances company. Tickets can be bought from the cafe in White Bank Road. For information ring 0161-652 9600.

Money raised will help to adapt Ellis’s home.
