WHAT a mess . . . a mountain of rubbish dumped in Chadderton
RESIDENTS in Chadderton were left shocked and angry when fly-tippers dumped this mountain of rubbish on their doorstep.
The huge pile of household rubbish was left near houses in Coalshaw Green Road - some residents even had to move the heavy rubbish to get to their homes.
One woman who has lived there 52 years said: “It happened so quick. I had only walked past where it had been dumped 15 minutes earlier. My neighbour knocked on the door to tell me what had happened.
“Whoever did this must have been in a big vehicle. There was so much rubbish here.”
Oldham Council removed the rubbish within 24 hours
The resident said: “It has become a real problem in the area. It has got worse and worse over the years and though the council responded very well this time, it’s not usually the case.”
