Teenager charged with assault

A 15-year-old boy appeared in court yesterday charged with the violent assault of two boys aged 14 and 17.
Police were called to the incident in Denmark Street, Chadderton, early on Monday evening. The Asian teens had been badly beaten and were rushed to hospital, where the older boy is described as critical and the younger one was treated for minor injuries.
The 15 year old appeared at Oldham Magistrates’ Court charged with section 18 assault and attempted section 18 assault. He was remanded in youth detention and will appeara in court again tomorrow.
Police are now searching for a second man, described as Bengali with a full beard. He wore a black parka-style coat with the hood up and a round, white badge on the arm. He carried a white football.
