Royal Oldham Hospital’s accident and emergency entrance
MORE than 317,000 attendances at Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust’s Accident and Emergency departments were recorded in 2014-2015.
The total - 317,354 - was split among three emergency departments including the Royal Oldham, and an urgent care centre.
The survey showed 93.6 per cent of visitors spent under four hours in the department.
Yesterday trust bosses asked Oldhamers to think before visiting A&E after patient numbers hit record levels.
In England in 2014 there were 19.6 million attendances, only 20 per cent of which resulted in hospital admission.
