Fuel poverty fight reaches 6,000

OLDHAM has more than 6,000 new energy champions to help householders save money on power bills
Launched by Community Action Partnership, the project from fuel poverty charity National Energy Action and British Gas has involved a series of workshops and training sessions over the past year.
The people involved have passed their new knowledge on power use and efficiency to help others in their communities to make their own homes more energy efficient.
Estimates suggests every person who took the course will help around15 other people a month - meaning more than 6,000 local people have already benefited from the scheme.
