THE future looks bright . . . how the Hotel Future will look
OLDHAM’s plans for “Hotel Future” are still going ahead, says Oldham council leader Jim McMahon..
The proposed 120-bedroom luxury hotel will be linked to the Queen Elizabeth Hall, creating a conference and meeting centre.
Councillor McMahon said: “We are still waiting to see if there’s any external funding. We need to be clear that we can do quite a lot ourselves, but it can’t be all for us to do. Others need to come to the table as well.
“If this is going to be a national hospitality academy it’s not unreasonable to say that the Government should contribute. We want to make sure that we are absolutely getting value for money for the Oldham taxpayer but also that other people make a contribution too.”
