COUNCIL chiefs will use a £70,000 grant to increase security for victims of domestic violence and their families.
The money is Oldham Council’s share of £3.5 million Government funding to support victims of domestic abuse.
It will be used to increase security at 25 properties in the borough providing safe temporary accommodation for victims.
Councillor Barbara Brownridge, cabinet member for neighbourhoods and co-operatives, said: “We are doing as much as possible to protect victims and families and this funding will help.”
The council is one of 46 local authorities across the county getting a share of the fund.
