SMASH . . . one of the damaged cars
AN out-of-control car in Chadderton smashed into other parked vehicles in the early hours of Sunday morning.
An 18-year-old man has been summonsed for driving without due care and attention, having no insurance or driving licence and failing to stop. The teenager — said to have had several passengers — lost control of the Vauxhall Astra and ploughed into a parked BMW on Middleton Road at around 3am.
The car is then said to have hit other parked vehicles, writing off at least one car or possibly two of them. The driver was arrested at the scene.
Keith Harland, whose car was hit, said: “I had two plastic boxes in the boot of my car and they were snapped in half — that’s how much force we’re talking about.”
