Date published: 11 December 2015

A MAJOR crackdown on drug dealing in Oldham has resulted in 23 criminals being jailed.

Operation Plumbline was a year-long investigation led by officers from Oldham’s Organised Challenger Crime Unit into the distribution of heroin and crack cocaine across the borough.

Over three days in April, June, and July, officers raided homes and seized heroin, crack cocaine, cannabis and cash.

Inspector Paul Walker, of Oldham division, said: “After a year of hard work and determination we have successfully put 23 people behind bars - and we won’t stop there.

“We are fulfilling our goal of ridding the streets of Oldham of drugs and we will carry on listening to our communities who have told us they want drug dealers taken off their streets. I hope this serves as a warning that if you are involved in the organised crime and drug dealing, we will pursue you and justice will be done.”
