Police consider sale of Failsworth station
Date published: 30 November 2015
FAILSWORTH police station is one of six police buildings across Greater Manchester that could be put up for sale to save £100,000 in running costs.
The force believes the sale of stations in Failsworth, Northenden, Radcliffe, Ramsbottom, Mossley and Plant Hill in Blackley could fetch them more than £700,000. A number of police buildings across Greater Manchester are under review. Plant Hill, Northenden and Failsworth were closed last year and the others have no public counters and are used only rarely as a drop-in by officers.
Police and Crime Commissioner Tony Lloyd and GMP will now work with local councillors, MPs and communities before a final decision is made.
