A parcel firm has delivered when it comes to community spirit.
Family-run Express Parcel Services, based at Middleton Junction, has donated £1,000 to make Christmas special for poorly youngsters who will be spending the festive season in Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
The cash will be spent on decorations and seasonal surprises for children on Ward 77, with some also being given to the haemodialysis unit.
The firm — a courier, haulage and storage business —has also recently sponsored Chadderton Park FC Lions team and supplied training and match kits.
They also sponsor Chadderton FC.
“We are very much a family-run firm and wanted to take the opportunity to support Manchester children’s hospital by way of donating £1,000 for the Christmas decorations for Ward 77,” said fleet risk PR manager Jamie Carr.
“Some of our employees’ children have attended there and we wanted to put something back and make it better for those having to spend Christmas there.
“We also wanted to do our bit by supporting local football.”
