Man dies after collapsing at wheel of his car

AN elderly man died after suffering a suspected “medical episode” at the wheel of his car in Clarksfield on Friday.

The man, who is believed to be in his 70s, was driving along Balfour Street, close to the junction with Lees Road shortly before 4.30pm.

Police believe he suffered a “medical episode” while driving and crashed his car.

No other cars are believed to have been involved and no other injuries were reported.

The road remained closed for several hours while the scene was cleared and investigations were carried out.
