ARMED thugs tortured a pub landlord in an horrific late-night raid before making off with his car and cash.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the shocking incident at The Famous King George on Hollins Road.
Three men burst into the pub — two of them with knives, the other with a hammer — at around 4am on Saturday.
When the 30-year-old victim confronted the trio in the hallway of the pub’s living quarters, he was punched and cut with knives on his head.
He was then tied up and threatened by the men, who demanded the safe key.
The thugs fled with cash and keys to the victim’s car. They left in the direction of Failsworth. The car — a blue Ford Focus registered YP06 RGV — has still not been found.
Detective Constable Ian Lloyd, of Oldham division, said: “The victim was shocked to find three men in his pub and was then subjected to an horrific and violent attack.
“I am appealing to anyone with information about the robbery, or who may have seen the car after the robbery, to speak to police.
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161-856 8825 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800-555 111.
