HOLLYWOOD premiere: Dave Robinson
LECTURER Dave Robinson is swapping Oldham for a red carpet premiere in Hollywood.
He flies to Los Angeles tomorrow after students from University Campus Oldham (UCO) and Oldham College shot a three-minute scene for the new movie “Samurai Cop 2: Deadly Vengeance”.
Dave, senior lecturer in creative media at UCO, teamed up for the project with John Eccles, course leader in the same subject at the college. Six students from the two courses filmed the shoot in the style of a 1970s bawdy British sitcom in Diggle.
The clip will appear in the film — a follow up to 1980s cult move “Samurai Cop” — and will also be a special feature on DVD and Blu-Ray releases.
Dave was contacted by LA-based CineRidge Entertainment after interviewing Mathew Karedas, who stars in both the original film and the sequel, for another project.
He said: “Filming for CineRidge was a fantastic opportunity for the students to get experience of professional work. The three-minute scene took a full day to film and demonstrated the students’ high level of skills. The production company was so thrilled with the finished result that it made the final movie edit.”
