POLICE are hunting a man following an attempted rape at a bus stop in Oldham.
On Sunday night a 45-year-old woman was sitting at a bus stop in West Street when she was approached by a man who engaged her in conversation before assaulting and trying to rape her.
The attacker was 5ft 10in tall, Asian, 18-21 years old and of slim build, with dark hair cut into a short back and sides. He was wearing dark denim jeans, a faded burgundy sweater or hoody with lettering on the front, and black shoes or pumps.
Det Insp Mark McDowall said “This is a horrible incident and she is understandably very shaken. The town centre is a busy place even at 10.45pm on Sunday, and we believe a number of potential witnesses drove past during the attack. If anyone has information I would urge them to come forward.”
