A WOMAN with 18 great-great-grandchildren is celebrating her 100th birthday today.
Gladys Wild was born in Cardiff but has lived in Failsworth since she moved in 1945, aged 30.
Gladys worked at the Regent Mill until the late 1950s then at Littlewoods at the Marlborough Mill until she retired aged 60.
Her second husband, Robert, died only six months after she retired, so Gladys went back to work, this time at the Lancaster Club, until she was 75.
Gladys celebrated her special day at home, and will enjoy a big family party on Saturday.
