AN Oldham security company might have caught Oldham’s dumbest would-be vehicle thieves on camera.
The duo can be seen on CCTV trying to open the door of a van clearly marked “iSecurity Solutions” parked outside the company’s office.
The company, in Lee Street, Oldham, says it found it “comical” that the would-be thieves tried to steal the van - and caught the entire episode on camera.
The two men, in a white Ford Fiesta, pulled up next to the van in Lee Street and the passenger leans out and tries the van door.
Kasar Mahmood, iSecurity Solutions owner, said: “One of our staff noticed the suspicious behaviour and decided to investigate. At that point they got disturbed and drove off. But due to our high-definition CCTV we were able to identify the criminals down to the writing on their clothes, the make and model of vehicle and registration plate. It seems very comical that they would try and break into a security installation company van right outside its office. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.”
The police were called immediately and information passed on. Patrols immediately started looking for the car
“The police found the car within 30 minutes, but it had been abandoned,” said Kasar. The investigation continues.
