HEALTH chiefs are celebrating NHS Oldham Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) being shortlisted for a prestigious national award.
The health body has been included in the CCG of the Year category at the Health Service Journal (HSJ) award.
The awards, on November 18 in London, recognise projects offering healthcare excellence and innovation.
Dr Ian Wilkinson, Oldham GP and chief clinical officer for NHS Oldham CCG, said: “We are thrilled to have been shortlisted - a fantastic achievement in itself, given the number of entries received from hundreds of high-performing healthcare organisations.
“We look forward to welcoming members of the HSJ judging panel to Oldham over the coming weeks.”
Over 600 organisations submitted over 1,600 entries to the awards. Those shortlisted will complete presentations and interviews to a judging panel.
Oldham CCG - responsible for spending Oldham’s health budget - won the NHS Board/Governing Body of the Year at the National NHS Leadership Recognition Awards earlier this year.
Several other local health organisations were also shortlisted for HSJ awards.
