A Shaw charity shop has raised the bar for second hand shoes by putting designer pairs by top brand Prada and shoemaker to the stars Christian Louboutin on sale at knockdown prices
Former Shaw resident Cristina Cornforth has donated 12 pairs of shoes - which included two pairs of Louboutin shoes and a pair of Prada heels - to the Children’s Society shop in Market Street, Shaw.
The shoes, all size five, were donated alongside a selection of clothes and handbags.
The Louboutins cost only £29.99 — about 25 times less than their original price - and the Prada pair is only £24.99.
Cristina, who is moving house, said she was having a clear out and had donated to the shop since it opened 20 years ago.
The designer shoes were her own, and the others are from a collection at her business, Russo, which she ran in Uppermill for eight years.
Cristina (48), who now runs property business in Failsworth, said: “I love shoes, but I’m moving house and having a clear out. Every time I’ve had something to give away I drop it off at the Children’s Society.”
Store manager Carol Forshaw said: “We are extremely grateful for the donation. We can put a higher price tag on items of this quality and people will be willing to pay it.”
