Cregan taunt man in court

A YOB who told police “we need a few more Dale Cregans with you lot around” when they approached him got a conditional discharge yesterday.
Kurtis Cundle (30) of Melford Avenue, New Moston, was at the South Chadderton Metrolink stop last month when police asked him what he was doing there. He told them he was waiting for his girfriend
After further questioning Cundle grew agitated and told them “We need a few more Dale Cregans with you lot around” making reference to the convicted police killer. Then he threatened to knock them out, deliberately walking into an officer and hurling more abuse before being arrested.
At Oldham Magistrates’ Court yesterday Cundle said: “I was minding my own business and they told me to move for no reason. There was no need for it.”
Cundle pleaded guilty to using threatening or abusive words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress.
He was handed a 12-month conditional discharge and must pay £250 in costs and charges.
