Tommy stabbing: man arrested

POLICE investigating the fatal weekend stabbing of teenager Tommy Bilton have made another arrest.
In the early hours of Saturday morning police found 19-year-old Tommy and a 23-year-old man with stabs wounds in Ashton Road. The older man survived and remains in hospital. Tommy died later that day and a murder probe was launched.
A 23-year-old man has now been arrested in Newcastle on suspicion of murder and attempted murder and had been returned to Greater Manchester, where he remains in custody. Shortly after the stabbings police arrested two 19 year olds, two 20 year olds and a 21-year-old man on suspicion of assault, but later released them on bail.
