THE father of a six-year-old Clarksfield girl killed in a crash in Stockport last month says it all still seems unreal.

Aleeza Ahmed died when her family’s car overturned off junction 25 of the M60 near Bredbury on July 26. Dad Ahmed Hussain and pregnant mum Sobia Sultana survived with serious injuries - but say their physical pain is nothing against losing their only daughter.

The family had been to buy Aleeza some new clothes for a family wedding when their Vauxhall Astra was in collision with another car. Ahmed (35) remembers only waking up in a hospital bed and being told his daughter was dead.

He added: “It still seems unreal to us. Aleeza was our darling princess and now she has been taken away. We loved her in every way. She meant everything to us and we are completely devastated.

“You read about things like this but never imagine it could be you in that terrible position. We are totally heartbroken.”

Sobia needed surgery on her arm, but doctors warned it could harm her unborn baby. After extebnsive checks the operation went ahead.

Ahmed added: “We decided to have another child to keep Aleeza company. She always said she wanted a little sister to play with at home and had already decided on a name. It’s heartbreaking to think she will never get to meet her. “

Ahmed, who is recovering from head and pelvic injuries, said his family had been touched by tributes paid by strangers on social media:

“Many people said if they lost their child they would wish it was them who had died and that’s exactly how I feel. I would give anything for it to have been me in her place.”
