ORGANISERS of a gruelling annual 40-mile race through Oldham are planning turn the event into a weekend festival of running - after falling for the borough’s scenery!
The Oldham Way Ultra on March 22 saw 78 runners finish the epic route, which started and ended at Delph’s Castleshaw Centre and took runners through Delph, Diggle, Denshaw, Royton, and many other parts of the borough.
Organisers Team OA are now planning next year’s run, the third Oldham Way Ultra. They want to turn the event into a weekend festival of running, with 5km trial races and activities on March 19, before the gruelling race on March 20.
The winner of this year’s event was Charlie Sharpe, who finished in six hours and four minutes. Find out more at www.oldhamwayultra.co.uk.
