Owner’s relative on arson charge

A MAN appeared before Oldham magistrates yesterday in connection with a fire at a destroyed sofa warehouse in Royton
Christopher Eastham (50), of Kensington Avenue, Royton, is accused of arson and endangering life, as well as allegedly setting fire to the Oldham Sofa Company previously, on May 3, doing £35,000 worth of damage. Eastham is a former employee of the company and is related to the owner.
Eastham will appear at crown court on July 8.
