CELEBRITIES have been showing their support for a new cancer centre at the Christie in Manchester by sharing their #MaggiesKitchenTable moments on social media.
Maggie’s is currently building a new facility at The Christie in Manchester. To raise awareness of the development, the charity has launched #Maggies KitchenTable and is asking people to take to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Pintrest to share their favourite moments to help spread the word that Maggie’s is coming to Greater Manchester.
The new centre at The Christie follows in the footsteps of the 18 Maggie’s centres across the UK, each with a kitchen table at their heart. Once open, the kitchen table at the new centre will be somewhere for people with cancer and their family and friends to meet others who understand what they are going through, find support or simply sit quietly with a cup of tea.
Celebrities including world superbike champion and winner of “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!” Carl Fogarty, Manchester United legends Gary Neville and Bryan Robson and singer Shayne Ward have already shown their support online.
Anyone can take part to help raise awareness by gathering friends, family or colleagues around the kitchen table for a picture, or sharing an existing special moment.
Simply post your photo on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram using the hashtag #MaggiesKitchenTable, remember to follow and like MaggiesChristie then nominate two friends to do the same.
