Woman’s superglue rescue ordeal
Date published: 05 June 2015
AN Oldham woman was taken to hospital with a door handle stuck to her hand - after falling victim to a cruel prank.
Firefighters and paramedics found the 28-year-old householder glued to door of her home at 11.30pm after she raised the alarm with her free hand.
Someone had poured superglue on the handle and her hand had stuck as she tried to open it.
Crews cut the handle off the mechanism then followed the ambulance to the Royal Oldham Hospital.
After releasing her, doctors found the caustic glue had burned the woman’s skin.
Watch manager Rich Haye said: “She saw some children running off just before she got home. It was awful for her. It must have been strong glue. Her ordeal lasted three or four hours.”
