Foxdenton Hall
FOXDENTON Hall isn’t for sale - and could soon be given a new lease of life.
Worried residents contacted the Chronicle expressing concern over rumours the hall was on the verge of being sold to a developer and possibly demolished.
An Oldham Council spokesman clarified rumours by explaining that the hall isn’t for sale but the council has received interest from a community-led organisation and expects a proposal soon.
The Grade-II listed hall, in Chadderton’s Foxdenton Park, is currently used by several community groups. Residents claim the building has fallen into disrepair over the years, fuelling speculation the council is keen to sell it.
Members of the Foxdenton and District Protection Group say the degeneration of the hall is another blow alongside the controversial £100 million business and residential park off Foxdenton Lane.
