POLICE and Crime Commissioner Tony Lloyd has been selected to act as interim mayor of Greater Manchester.
Mr Lloyd will take up the post on June 26, but will continue in his current role as Greater Manchester Police and Crime Commissioner. The mayor will be selected by public election in 2017.
Mr Lloyd was picked by the region’s 10 local authority leaders. Oldham Council leader Jim McMahon said: “Tony is a great ambassador and advocate for Greater Manchester.”
